BLIND MELON-FOR MY FRIENDS (2008)

La banda de California Blind Melon regresa después más de 12 años y de haber superado la muerte de su vocalista Shannon Hoon el 21 de octubre del 95 por sobredosis de cocaína... pero no hablemos de cosas tristes, regresaron con nuevo material y lógico... nuevo vocalista "Travis Warren".

El disco esta verdaderamente bueno... mantienen al 100% la esencia de sus materiales anteriores... casi, casi, me sentí al escucharlos que estaba de nuevo tirado en el sofá de la casa con mi uniforme de la secundaria esperando a que terminara el video de "No Rain" en MTV para correr a la escuela, en la que por supuesto siempre llegaba tarde por razones similares.

Kurt Cobain: About a Son, el documental que debutó en el Toronto International Film Festival el año 2006, es dirigido por AJ Schnack y tiene entrevistas realizadas a Cobain por el periodista Michael Azerrad para el libro Come As You Are: The Story Of Nirvana (1993).La música que acompaña al documental - paradójicamente para muchos - no tiene canciones de Nirvana, sino música que influenció a Cobain. Algo asi como el soundtrack de su vida.

DJ SHADOW CUT CHEMIST-THE HARD SELL

Siguiendo las huellas del ahora legendario show "Brainfreeze" (1999) o "Product Placement" (2001) DJ SHADOW y CUT CHEMIST se han salido ahora con un nuevo show, "The Hard Sell" que incorpora 8 platos y dos pedales de loop de guitarras, lo que permite una serie de trucos de una complejidad nunca vista. Igual que pasó en anteriores shows, el dúo pasa un poco de sus propios temas para deleitarnos con una batidora de estilos y sonidos de muchas épocas, mezclas de rap con música de violín, doo wop con new wave y todo lo que esté entre mediasPero siempre evitando lo obvio ultra machacado por la mayoría de djs. La última vez que este espectáculo se vio en USA, fue delante de 15000 personas en el Hollywood Bowl...por lo que os podéis imaginar que va a ser algo especial. En propias palabras de Mr Shadow "queremos pinchar cosas que pongan una sonrisa en la cara de la gente...y más tarde que les haga salir corriendo a las salidas”. No os perdáis este espectáculo de dos de los djs más innovadores de California.

METALLICA Y R.A.T.M EN GETAFE (MADRID)

Podemos adelantar en exclusiva que Metallica estarán tocando en fecha única el próximo 31 de mayo en el Auditorio John Lennon de Getafe, Madrid. Será un festival con el nombre de Electric Weekend y se anuncian siete u ocho bandas cada día, entre las que se acaba de confirmar para el primer día a Rage Against The Machine.
Las entradas salen a la venta el martes, 22 de enero, a través de la red Tick Tack Ticket, con una oferta de bono de dos días a 110 €, más gastos de distribución. Se trata de una oferta limitada hasta el 16 de febrero.

EIKOSTATE MOLAN

Eikostate, grupo que cuenta en sus filas con varios ex-After FeedBack, ha firmado con Triumphant/Trident Style Records de Japón y Universal Music Publishing España para editar su disco de debut, "Tribute to perseverance", que saldrá a la venta durante la primavera de 2008. El álbum fue grabado entre septiembre y octubre de 2007 en Buena Onda Studios y mezclado por Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park, Him, Mindset, Dog Fashion Disco, Sinch) y en estos momentos está siendo masterizado por Alan Douches en los West West Side mastering studios (Fleetwood Mac, Mastodon, Misfits, Everytime I Die, Hole, Sepultura).
